Dairying has become an important source of income for millions of rural families and has assumed the vital role in providing employment and income generating opportunities particularly for women and marginal farmers. The productivity of cattle and buffaloes in India is low and needs urgent interventions to improve their performance. India is the world leader in milk production and the demand for milk and milk products is increasing day by day.
